Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Pencilled, the operator of this service. “We”, “us” and “Pencilled” mean that operator.

They're governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, this doesn't take away consumer rights you have where you live.

Pencilled is an advertising and information service, a noticeboard. Crew advertise their availability; approved bookers read it and get in touch directly.

We do not introduce, select, supply or employ crew. We are not an employment agency or employment business, we don't take part in any negotiation or engagement, and we're not a party to any contract between crew and bookers. We never handle money between the two sides, we don't vouch for anyone, and we don't rank, recommend or match. Bookers and crew deal with each other directly and are responsible for their own dealings, including contracts, rates, insurance, and checking each other out.

One account per person. Crew accounts self-register. Booker accounts are personally approved and can be revoked at any time, for any reason, without notice. Revocation immediately removes access to all availability and contact data.

Keep your details accurate. An availability board full of stale statuses helps nobody, which is why inactive statuses drop out of search automatically.

No scraping, bulk-harvesting or re-publication of any data on Pencilled. Contact details and availability are for the direct, personal use of the approved account holder. Contact reveals are logged and rate-limited. Sharing crew contact details outside your production team is a fast way to lose your account.

Crew membership is free for founding members for their founding year, then £7/month or £70/year. If a subscription lapses, your profile becomes invisible in search. Nothing is deleted, and reactivating restores everything.

Pencilled provides the noticeboard “as is”. We don't guarantee that any listing is accurate, that any booker or crew member is who they say they are, or that using Pencilled will result in work or crew. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that happens on a job, or for a job that doesn't happen.

Delete your account any time from Settings. Deletion hides your profile and availability everywhere immediately. You can export your data first, also from Settings.
